The title of this post is a question I hear over and over again, so I thought a post addressing the issue was in order. Stainless steel sinks are very stylish, and are reasonably priced. Both of those things are the main reasons for their popularity. These sinks fit nicely with just about any style theme, so you cannot go wrong with a stainless steel undermount sink.
Copper sinks are gaining in popularity in recent years, and they are certainly available in undermount applications. An copper undermount sink will likely be quite a bit more expensive than a stainless steel sink of comparable size, but their beauty cannot be denied and if you have room in your budget you should definitely consider one. Unlike stainless steel, a copper sink does not go with every style of decor, so plan accordingly and be sure it fits your theme before you spend the money on a copper undermount sink.
Porcelain has always been the most popular material for bathroom sinks, and yes, there is a large variety of undermount porcelain sinks available. These sinks are not very popular, mostly because when people upgrade their bathroom, they usually want to go with an upgraded sink, and porcelain sinks are not generally considered as an upgrade.
Other materials available in undermount sinks are glass and iron, among others. The point is, if you want the clean lines and classy look of an undermount sink, you can have it in any material you want.
